PUTRAJAYA: Former Federal Court judge Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali has been appointed as the new Attorney-General He replaces Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail whose tenure was terminated yesterday due to health reasons.

Chief Secretary to the government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa made the announcement of the new appointment today.

“However, Gani will still serve as the Judiciary and Legal officer until his official retirement date October 6 this year.

“He has contributed immensely to the country during his tenure as a attorney-general,” said Ali Hamsa.
