KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has yet to answer questions on the RM2.6 billion donation in his personal account as he was advised by the Attorney-General not to reveal details of the investigations.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said said he was only abiding by the AG’s advice.

“We are guided by the AG because this is an ongoing investigation. We are guided by his advice,” she told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.

She said the government decided to issue a statement as the matter was frequently raised in debates. She had it had also led to a pileup of questions in the Parliament debate.

“As such, the best way to deal with the matter was to issue statement and reply as a ministerial answer in Parliament, she said.

“As far as the government is concerned, the best way to deal with the issue is to answer it via a statement which is permitted by the Standing Order,” she added.-nst
