More than RM400,000 worth of drugs disposed

SEREMBAN: The Seremban district police headquarters today disposed 7.83kg of various types of drugs amounting to RM432,470. Seremban district police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhamad Zaki Harun said the drugs were case items for cases between 2007 and 2014.

Zaki said police had obtained consent from state police chief Datuk Jaafar Mohd Yusof and the state environment department to conduct the disposal.

“All the cases have been settled in court and the disposal can prevent the central evidence store in Sikamat from overflowing and allow for the housing of other case seizures.

“Today we disposed 639 items, including other related documents,” he told reporters after witnessing the drugs disposal ceremony at the headquarters.

The drugs disposed were 232.2g of heroin, marijuana (781.1g), methamphetamine (235.1g), ketamine (4.01kg), ecstasy (2.52kg) and cough syrup (41.5g).

Also present to witness the event was Seremban district Narcotics Crime Investigation department chief Assistant Superintendent Jamaludin Ismail and Asset Forfeiture department staff officer Assistant Superintendent Sunder Muniandy.-nst
